Message from our Grand Knight
Dear Brother Knights,
Our Council has seen some changes over the last few months. The Grand Knight we had hoped would have taken us into 2010, Warren Barton, became seriously ill in the winter and died on Easter Sunday 2009. As Deputy Grand Knight I had to assume his duties for the remaining part of the fraternal year. Pat Finn has boldly led the Scholarship Dinners to a successful conclusion. The Scholarship Committee, under the strong leadership of Frank Leone, made the very hard choices from the pool of applicants. This year's Altar Server Recognition Dinner, (co-sponsored by the St. Ann’s Club) was also very successful. The lion's share of the credit goes to Pat Finn and Joe Valiante. Parishes taking part were: St. Jerome, St. Joseph, St. Ladislaus, St. Mary, St. Philip and St. Thomas the Apostle. When the Council at Our Lady of Fatima, in Wilton, heard about this dinner they asked if they could also be a co-sponsor and bring their altar servers as well. Of course we said yes.
This year’s accomplishments could not have been achieved without the active support of the 2008-2009 officers. Warren Barton (GK), Louis G. Imperato, Jr. (FS). Dominic J. Tesauro (Chan), Michael DiMeglio (W), Fr. Joseph F. Palacino (Chap), William J. Berger (Treas), Patrick J. Finn (Trustee for 3 yrs), Carmine R. Scordo (Trustee for 2 yrs) who also served as recorder, Donald V. S. Hunter (Trustee for 1 yrs), A. William Harrick (IG), Franco Ialeggio (OG), Edward A. Delyonas (Advo), Graham MacIntyre (Liaison to Columbiettes), and Frank Leone. They deserve your unfeining thanks.
Before I close I want to thank you for the great honor you have bestowed upon me by electing me as your Grand Knight. You have my promise that I will work diligently to make our council all that it can be. But I need your help, remember the lesson of Unity. When we work together in Christ, all things are possible!
Yours in the service of Christ,
Jim Wardwell
Grand Knight
